PARISH
VICTORIES USING DMS
(Denominational Ministry Strategy):
-Established
a 5 denomination ministry into the communities with bi yearly rallies
of 1000 in attendance. Corporations then threatened bishops to stop
co-operating with us.
-Started a
successful moving money campaign out of Mellon bank for investing
money in overseas plants. Bishops turn on us before using symbolic
tactics of fish or skunk oil.
-Secured a
major unprecedented union victory for workers at Passavant Center
returning to work after being replaced, obtained new contract.
-Strike at
Shasta settled through Shipbuilder's Local #61 and DMS/Network efforts.
Focused world wide attention on the plight of the unemployed in
the Mon/Ohio Valley and on the influence of giant corporations and
power leaders. World wide media focused on this ministry. including
60 minutes (a negative attack on behalf of banking interests), all
networks including international media, and many books. More books
praised DMS then castigated DMS.
-Blocked or
stalled several federal judgeships with our research. Won a utility
company agreement to revise its policy toward delinquent accounts
and accounts of those unemployed.
-Secured back
pay for Mesta workers when their company was forced into bankruptcy
in conjunction with United Steelworkers International union. Then
the USWA turned against DMS as did the bishops.
-Won several
court cases on appeal or had decisions reversed. (Faith Lutheran
Church upper St.Clair falsely arrested Rev. Roth and 6 associates
outside church property. Rev. Solberg found not guilty in church
seizure case, but spent 3 months in jail anyway. Rev. Roth and Solberg
found not guilty in both national conventions for attempting to
speak on the injustices done against them by defrockings.)
-Research into
corruption in the Aliquippa political structure helped force indictments
of city leaders.
-Pressure brought
federal aid to depressed areas of the Mon Valley, i.e. Clairton.
-DMS satellite group P.O.W.R. of Three Rivers Michigan had a major
role in winning a recall against a toxic waste dump owner from a
political position. Exposed First Baptist church for expulsion of
pastor and members and refusal to allow prophetic ministry against
the toxic waste dump. The church has now hired a pastor who is also
a part-time policeman.
-Prevented
the takeover of Christ Lutheran Church, Duquesne by the Bishop,
and prevented outside interference in St. Matthew's Episcopal, Homestead.
-Wrote and published worldwide, the Pittsburgh Confession and Apology
-Retained defrocked ministers Rev. D. Douglas Roth, and Rev. Daniel
N. Solberg as associate pastors of East Liberty Lutheran Church
and Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. Roth continued with Trinity. Exposed
the Lutheran Bishop Kenneth May for perjury, and won the major court
points in the Trinity case. Synod took property illegally, violated
the constitution and court ordered a final appeal in synod convention
1988 3 years late. Court was fixed however and property not returned
to Rev. Roth and original Trinity Church Council.
-Brought public
disdain on corporate, church, and government officials who closed
plants to pave way for predicted Riverboat Gambling economy for
Pittsburgh. This attributed to corporate internal tensions and had
a part in their demise as leaders. ie. Mellon chairman David Barnes,
ousted; Pittsburgh Police chief John Norton; Passavant Home director
Robert Culp; National Lutheran bishop James Crumley lost his bid
for national bishop of the new ELCA; Dravo CEO Thomas Faught;
-Drawn the
new anti-protest tendencies of American leaders into the open by
sidewalk arrests for communing, reading the Bible, speaking at conventions,
trying to attend church, resulting in some sentences of up to 2
years. Right to protest is being undermined in America.
-Defended ourselves
in over 200 court cases and arrests.
-Established
the DMS / Confessing Synod school of prophetic ministry. -David
Soul & William Jersey produced a documentary "FIGHTING
MINISTERS" about the DMS struggle and was screened internationally.
-Creative development
of people within churches using DMS schooling to become a new generation
of faithful people, spurring renewed interest in Bible study, theology,
and Christian witness in the real world. -Formed the first Confessional
Synod in America.
-Stopped restrictive
zoning laws for Homestead's industrial land use after demolition
of mills. Researched criminal ties and land grabs to plant developers.
-Stopped a
land fill dump in E. Carnegie by the use of research and political
pressure. This victory was won by a local citizens group with the
help of St. Andrew's Lutheran church.
-Pressed for
decisions on a new or renovated Duquesne, PA school system. Won
new proposal only to be stalled. Fight will continue.
-East Liberty
business area being brought together in a new drive for renewal
of an urban area.
-Helped stall
mall development by developer George Zamias in Frazer Twp, PA. Alerted
other areas where he is developing. He is much more scrutinized
by local officials as a result of our newspaper exposing his long
term mob ties and documented payoffs including to a convicted judge,
O'Kicki. O'Kicki then took the total rap with Zamias going totally
free. Frazer citizens have won more court cases since DMX got involved.
In the long run the citizens are realizing that they cannot win
by politics or legal fights as developer everywhere always win in
the long run. Not so with DMX, if more direct action is employed.
After 12 year, residents, DMX, and all pressures have succeeded
in stalling the mall. Survived a half million dollar S.L.A.A.P.
lawsuit that was finally thrown out.
-Exposed the
121 S. Highland building unsavory and even related mob ties of former
owners. Legal maneuvers had failed to stop the project that many
businesses did not want for the business sector. The combination
of business, legal pressure, and our independent research action
blocked it's development from becoming section 8 housing. E. Liberty
has too much of that concentration now. Development is now slated
for a high tech center.
-Forced stronger
inspection and now bringing in officials to look at the Duquesne
School system and the lack of State controls. Rumor has it that
the State is finally taking over in 2000.
-Exposed and
took strong action that led to the end of a prison release center
slated for the business section of E. Liberty.
-Forced the
closing of a crackhouse and evicting the squatter that was threatening
to destroy a neighborhood.
-Assisted a
landlord in saving 80 residents from having to move from their apartments
due to bureaucratic red tape.
-Worked with
local community and civic groups and churches to be a partner and
help toward the renovation of a business district and will put pressure
on a high-rise that is infested with crackhouse and criminal operations.
It spans and blocks a major highway into the business area.
-E. Liberty
Lutheran Church assisted the local Chamber of Commerce with a business
directory with the 11th edition reaching 15,000 residents with 282
advertisers. As of October , 2001 Frazer mall has not been started.
Zamias family goes bankrupt. Our church base in the Confessing Synod
with the action group DMX/DMS is within the traditional denominations.
The prophetic, confessing church is the only independent catalyst
that can provide strong enough, yet prudent action that can help
local residents and businesses win their issues. We are replacing
the badly stereotyped "churchy" church that cling to a
pew sitting culturally "nice". Our focus helps communities
stand up to being preyed upon by disruptive and destructive forces.
For more information about working along with an effective power
group to help the "little guy" stand up for what is right,
call us or email us. We can help you fight for improvement in your
area, call one of the base participating churches (other churches
and groups are involved). E. Liberty Lutheran, 362-1712; St. Andrew
Lutheran church, Carnegie 279-3615, Christ Lutheran Church, Duquesne
466-7773, Calvary U.C.C. Turtle Creek 823-4347.
We are probably
the longest term, strongest, most successful group in Western Pennsylvania
at fighting for community strength. We have a long track record
as you can see and many other ministries to help your situation.
